5 tips for applying mascara
- 2 min reading time

Long and full lashes complete your eyelook, but it is not always easy to get that perfect lashlook. I would like to share five tips with you so that you can enjoy the most beautiful eyelooks!
The right mascara
The search starts with determining your type of eyelashes. Not every mascara is for you, so make sure you find a mascara that does suit your eyelashes. Do you have long eyelashes? Then it is best to choose a mascara with a long brush.
Do you already have curled eyelashes? Then it is best to choose a mascara with a curved brush, this ensures that your eyelashes are lifted extra.

Curl eyelashes
Beautiful curled lashes are not only created with mascara, but also with an eyelash curler . Use this before mascara and you immediately have a beautiful base. Never apply mascara first, you run the risk that your lashes stick to the lash curler and that you pull them out.. ouch!
To prevent your lashes from sticking together, it is useful to first brush them out with an eyelash brush or a lash separator . First, place your curler a few millimeters from the end and squeeze your curler closed for a few seconds. There is no need to squeeze very hard, as this will only damage your lashes. Then place the curler against your eyelid and squeeze for a few more seconds. This will create a beautiful, lifted curl in your lashes that you can then secure with your favorite mascara .
Primer
To get the most out of your lashes, it is useful to use a mascara primer . A primer nourishes the lashes and makes them even stronger. With a primer, you also need fewer layers of mascara, because this product gets the most out of every layer.
Zigzag movement
To prevent your lashes from sticking together, apply your mascara using zigzag movements. This will separate all the hairs and prevent clumps.
Prevent dehydration
To prevent your mascara from drying out quickly, it is best to remove the brush from the tube with a slow and rotating movement. Do the same when you put the brush back in the tube. This prevents air from being pumped in, which means the mascara will dry out less quickly.
Also, don't pump your brush back and forth to get more product out of the tube. All you're doing is pumping air into your tube, which will cause the mascara to dry out extra quickly. Instead, build up your mascara by applying multiple layers. It would be a shame to throw your mascara away prematurely.
