How do I apply eyeshadow?

There are many different ways to apply eye shadow. You can create a light, subtle look for the day or a sultry evening look. From subtle to dramatic. Whatever look you go for, the basis is the same. But, how do you best apply eye shadow?
The most important step is the first step: use an eyeshadow primer! Your eyeshadow blends easier, doesn't crease and the colors come out much better!
How to apply eyeshadow step by step
For a beautiful, simple eyeshadow look, you only need three shades! Take a light shade (similar to your skin tone), a medium shade, and one shade that is nice and dark.
First, apply the lightest shade of eyeshadow under your eyebrows and in the inner corner of your eye. It is best to use a small eyeshadow brush for this.
Then take the darkest eye shadow color. Apply this in your crease. Your crease is the "arch" above your moving eyelid and under your brow bone. Apply the darkest color with a blending brush, so that you don't get hard lines. Do you find the eye shadow a bit too dark, or have you gone a bit overboard? Then take a slightly lighter eye shadow to correct.
Then apply the medium eyeshadow color to your moving eyelid. There is no eyeshadow here yet. For this color you use an eyeshadow brush.
You can choose to complete your look by applying a thin line of eyeshadow along the lower lash line.
