How do I know what my skin type is?
- 3 min reading time
When you are looking for the right skin care products it is good to know what your skin type is. Products can be so good but if they are not suitable for your skin type the praised product will not work for you.
A beautician can best tell you what your skin type is by means of skin measurements. With such a skin type test your skin type and skin condition are determined. However, we can help you with a number of useful tips to determine your skin type.
Do I have dry skin?
Dry skin produces little oil, which can make your skin more sensitive. Do you suffer from irritated or red skin and are fine lines clearly visible? Are your pores not clearly visible? Then you probably have dry skin.
It is important to use rich nourishing creams and serums and masks specifically aimed at dry skin. View all care products for dry skin here
Do I have oily skin?
If you often suffer from impurities or a shiny head, you probably have oily skin. Due to excessive sebum production, your skin will shine and pimples and blackheads will be visible. A good cleanser is extremely important for oily skin. View all care products for oily skin here .
Do I have sensitive skin?
Do you often get a reaction such as a red skin to products that contain alcohol or perfume? Do you notice that your skin reacts to this especially in wind, cold or sun? Then you probably have sensitive skin. It is important to get good advice about nutrition and skin care products, only use products that do not contain perfume or alcohol. Do I have normal skin?
It is also possible that your skin is not bothered by anything, but there are visible pores but they are not very noticeable or enlarged. Your skin is actually well balanced and only needs extra care when it gets a bit colder. When you get a bit older you will notice that normal skin becomes a bit drier, then choose a suitable cream for mature skin. View products for normal skin here
Do I have combination skin?
Your skin may feel both dry and oily. You will notice this difference especially in the T-zone. Your nose, chin and forehead are oily and produce more sebum. In this T-zone, the skin will shine more and you will often see clogged pores. In the dry areas, your skin will feel tighter. It is then important to use products specifically for combination skin. Or only use cream for oily skin on the oily area and a cream for (you guessed it...) dry skin on the dry areas. View products for combination skin here
