What do ceramides do and do I need them?

Ceramides are actually fats (lipids) that are naturally present in the skin. They support your skin barrier and ensure that your skin stays hydrated. Without ceramides, your skin is dry and irritated and you can get itchy. In addition, it ensures that the skin remains strong and that your skin is protected from external influences.
