The abbreviation BHA is often encountered when you are looking for a skincare product. Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) is also known as Salicylic acid. On an ingredient list you will find BHA as Salicylic acid. The name may sound a bit scary but it actually contains calming and soothing properties.

Salicylic acid against pimples and other impurities

When you use a BHA exfoliant, your dead skin cells are gently removed, revealing a healthy, radiant complexion. BHA works deep into your pores, reducing pimples and other blemishes. You will also notice that clogged pores are visibly reduced. BHA even helps if you suffer from milia.

After using a BHA product, your skin is clean and your dead skin cells are gone. As a result, you will notice that other skincare products are better absorbed by the skin.

BHA for everyone

BHA is suitable for all skin types and tackles a huge range of skin problems. You will therefore notice that this ingredient is found in many skincare products. An effective concentration of salicylic acid is between 0.5 and 2 percent.

BHA is most suitable for combination to oily skin, but if you have dry or normal skin you can certainly use BHA.
