Contour

Contouring can be quite a struggle . Not only the application, but also choosing a suitable product can sometimes be difficult. That is why we explain the difference between powder and cream contour in this blog post! After reading this blog you can contour like a pro!

Powder contour

To make powder contour sit well and blend nicely with your skin, it is smart to use a primer first. This can be a day cream or a foundation, for example. Powder contour is more subtle than cream contour. If you don't want it to be very noticeable or if you don't have to contour very much, then powder contour is perfect for you! Because powder is subtle, you can build it up more easily, you do this by simply applying multiple layers. Do take it easy with the layers, maybe even take a short break and then check again. You can easily apply too much.

The nice thing about powder contour is that you have to blend less, so you are generally done faster! It is true that powder contour is somewhat less opaque and is more difficult to apply to a skin with a lot of structure. These can be hairs, for example, the powder then distributes less evenly over the face.

It is smart to first look at your skin type when buying a contour. Powder contour is mainly suitable for a somewhat oilier skin, because it mattifies. With a dry skin, this can accentuate the dry skin. Use a fixing spray with a powder contour to keep your look beautiful!

Cream contour

Cream contour is more intense than powder contour. Perfect if you want to contour more clearly or if you are going out for the evening. An advantage of cream contour is that you can apply it very precisely. You can see exactly where you are placing your line. It is also easier to correct than powder contour. You do need to be a bit more patient; blending well is very important with cream contour. If you don't do this, you will have very clear lines on your face. Of course, you want to avoid this!

With oily skin, cream contour may be a lesser choice. This can make the skin look even oilier. When using creamy products, it is important to use a good setting powder so that the contour does not move.
