One of the most important things about taking care of your makeup brushes is of course cleaning them regularly. This way your brushes stay clean, soft and healthy. And they last much longer!

Brushes are used almost every day, so it is important that they remain clean and hygienic. This is not only important for the care of your skin, but also for all the countless bacteria that would otherwise collect in your brushes. This can cause possible fungi in the brush and develop pimples or impurities on your face. And of course we want to prevent that!

So how can you best tackle this? Below you will find all the steps and tips for washing your make-up brushes.

Do you use your brushes daily? Then do these steps at least once a week.

What do you need?

Cleansing gel or shampoo

Cleansing palette of mat

Step 1: Apply Cleansing

Apply a small amount of cleansing gel or shampoo to the cleasing mat. Mix this with lukewarm water. Note: make sure the water is not too hot, this can be harmful to your brushes!

Step 2: First cleaning

Clean the brush thoroughly without touching the entire base of the brush. Note: make sure you do not press too hard on the brush. This can cause the brush to become out of shape.

Step 3: Thorough cleaning

Move the brush in circular motions over the cleansing mat. Make sure you move your makeup brush on different surfaces of the mat. This way you clean all parts of the brush thoroughly.

Step 4: Repeat

Repeat these steps until the water becomes completely transparent. Place the brush under running water to see if any dirty water comes off. This way you can see if all the dirt has been washed out of your brush.

Step 5: Squeeze

After cleaning, gently squeeze out any excess water from your brush.

Step 6: Drying

Dry your brushes upside down so that no moisture can reach the adhesive layers of the bristles.
This can cause the glue on your brushes to loosen more quickly.

Tip! Go for a Brush Protector , this will keep the hairs of your make-up brushes in shape.

That's it! Your brushes are as good as new again!
